Thank you, that worked great.

Does the flasher change anything in regard to region encoded Blu-ray discs?

I just purchased a European 4k Blu-ray Disc that comes with a Region B supplemental disc. Wondering if it will RIP it.

Makemkv takes care of the region restrictions. Post your Makemkv info.

Hello,

I found this thread in a search and this is my first post on the forum. I too have this drive and checked it last night. It is working and still has the original firmware. I would like to flash it so it can read 4K discs. Can someone provide a link to the firmware for this drive? :)

Hello! I have a Pioneer BDR-XD05S (the S shows up on the sticker on the bottom) that was manufactured in january of 2017 (according to the sticker on the bottom) and I was wondering if it was possible to have flashed to work with UHD discs? The drive and libredrive information are as follows:

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8232

Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 3.10/ID34
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes

Wow, I am a total dummy. After getting a new computer, I was updating many things, and I saw there was new firmware available for my BDR-XD05S (manufactured March 2018). I did not do enough research beforehand, and immediately regretted my haste to "upgrade". This drive is no longer able to rip UHD BDs. Is there really no way to restore that functionality?

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XD05
Revision: 3.11
Serial number: ...
Firmware date: 2023-03-03
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8232
Firmware version: ID34

No disc inserted
