Verbatim drive refuses to read Johnny English blu-ray
Verbatim drive refuses to read Johnny English blu-ray
As per the title the drive refuses to read/recognise this disc. The disc is clean with no scratches, and plays fine on other blu-ray players. I’ve ordered another copy but I fear I might come across the same issue. What could be the problem here? Other discs read in the drive with no problems. Thanks
Re: Verbatim drive refuses to read Johnny English blu-ray
In my experience, some drives just don't like some discs. I have four different drives. On the rare occasion that my usual drive doesn't like a disc, I try it in a different drive. Often, but not always, one of my other drives reads the disc normally.

Unfortunately I don’t have another drive but I do have another copy of the same film on the way, do you think it will be the same outcome or is it just my existing copy it has a problem with? Thanks

Another copy will probably work perfectly in your existing drive.

You were right I just received my new copy and the drive accepted it straight away without any issues. It’s the strangest thing, my original copy did however play perfectly fine in other blu-ray players and consoles fine, just not this computer drive. Needless to say my original copy has gone in the bindcoke22 wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:44 pm Another copy will probably work perfectly in your existing drive.

Standalone player just skip unreadable parts. Makemkv doesn't and wants to make a perfect copy.madacj wrote: Mon Mar 10, 2025 5:24 pmYou were right I just received my new copy and the drive accepted it straight away without any issues. I didn’t even open makemkv with my original copy the drive wouldn’t even read it / wouldn’t load on my Desktop, the drive kept trying to read it but eventually just ejected it, my second copy loaded straight away no issues at allCoopervid wrote: Mon Mar 10, 2025 6:32 pmStandalone player just skip unreadable parts.
