What exactly are they doing out there in The Scene? They must have a different flash tool because I doubt they are soldering.

What is LibreDrive?

Essentially, it bypasses restrictions imposed by a drives FW. It can allow a drive (whos HW supports UHD) to rip UHD discs.

Post the Drive Info/LibreDrive Info reported by MakeMKV & someone can tell you whether your drive is/can be supported.

Your drive has the dreaded post 11/2022 firmware as is not able to be flashed to enable libredrive nor UHD compatibility.

You won't find any new drives with the compatible pre 12/2022 firmware in any retail stores. The only way to get a libredrive enabled and UHD compatible Pioneer drive (that isn't a BDR-212V or BDR-212DBK) is from a seller on this forum.
Cheers :D
