Drive destroyed bluray disc
I was ripping a bluray with LibreDrive on my LG drivewhen makemkv started to show read errors, then I heard the drive spin way up and when I came back later and ejected the disc to check if it needed cleaning, the disc was in pieces.I think most of the pieces are still in the drive. Has anyone seen this happen before?

That's a real bummer. I've never had a disc break in a drive, but I have heard my LG drives spin up to high speed when they seem to get confused.

What brand would you suggest for a 5.25" bay? It seems like Pioneer really locks down their firmware, and everything else seems to be rebadged LG or Pioneer

Which firmware did you use? Maybe it has to do with that?
