My Blu-ray drive will handle 4K discs but my PC monitor won't, how can I rip a 4K disc to a file that's the equivalent of a smaller Blu-ray/HD rip? I can't see anything in the settings, etc but I guess I'm missing something.
I use VLC to play back the MKV files, etc.
Thanks.

This can't be done by MakeMKV.KeyNo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 7:33 pmMy Blu-ray drive will handle 4K discs but my PC monitor won't, how can I rip a 4K disc to a file that's the equivalent of a smaller Blu-ray/HD rip? I can't see anything in the settings, etc but I guess I'm missing something.

Once you have ripped the disc using MakeMKV, you would have to use other software to re-encode and convert to SDR.
Cheers

Ah, I see - thank you.
Would you be able to recommend any suitable software for the job?
