Backup and Rip

Post by dancrocker »

I don't think this feature exists but in case it does...
I have a bunch of disks that I want to both backup and rip. It would be nice if I could open makemkv, select the title(s) I want to rip (with all the options), then click something that enabled a back up as well. Then I could let it run for several hours, let it finish, then pop in the next disc.
If I can do this now, let me know. If I can't and the makemkv developer sees this, consider it a feature request :).

You can use the backup option (on the first screen, click the icon of the yellow folder with the green arrow) to create a (decrypted) backup of a disc. You can then open that backup and create .mkv files from it. You only have to read from the optical disc once and you end up with backup and .mkv files.

Yeah, that's what I do. It would be nice for the tool to do the backup, then use the backed up data to rip selected titles. Right now I need to wait for the backup to finish before I can kick off the ripping.
