I've tried MacXDvd ripper, hand brake and now MKV. I purchased a dvd series that the dvd's seem to be able to give false titles for the software to select as the source. When I try to play them back, it's always a short title even though it lists the correct one during the source selection process. I've set the preferences tab to two seconds, with no success. Any ideas out there?
Thanks,

Hi!
What is the title and region of the DVD series?

I'm assuming the region is North America and the title is normally 1. I'm not sure how to look that info up.

By "title" I mean the NAME (Star Trek, Lost, etc.)...
Re: Can't get the correct Title to Rip
Oh sorry, it's the Duck Commander series on waterfowl hunting. When I pull up the title in the source selection, the times match, but when you play it back, it has ripped a 20-120 second segment and not the movie. It's really frustrating. I have ripped all my regular dvd's, including Disney's movies, but these seem to have some sort of different type set up to prevent copying them.
Thanks for you your interest, any ideas?

(Couldn't resist ;>})
I'm afraid I'm "in the blind" about that DVD set...
1) Have you played the original DVD(s) on the same system, to make certain that they don't exhibit the same problematic behavior?
2) What are the indicated filesizes of the individual, created .MKVs?

I have been using the same equipment all along. File sizes show from the sources selected 1.4 KB but when the MKV files show up, they are around 4248 M or so. When I play them, it copies a shorter file, around two minutes in length.
Out of the 12 dvd's purchased, I've been able to copy 1-4 and 11-12. The rest aren't cooperating. They were origianlly produced from 1995-2005.
