MakeMKV doesn't open many MKV files

Hi,

I want to quickly comment on what a great program MakeMKV is. It works great and I'll be buying the final product for sure!

Anyway, I know that the program is also supposed to be able to open MKV files so that certain tracks can be checked/unchecked and a new MKV file muxed from those choices. However, when I open an MKV file originally created by basically any program other than MakeMKV, I get the following errors in the MakeMKV error log:

Does anyone know why MakeMKV doesn't like to open MKV files that it itself didn't create? Is there a future fix for this problem? Thanks much!

MakeMKV is supposed to open any MKV file, created by any application, even with options that it would never set by itself; providing it knows all codecs that are inside such MKV file. In practice that means that video should be mpeg2, mpeg-4 or VC-1 and audio/subs in any format that could possibly be present on DVD,HD-DVD or blu-ray.

In your particular case it chocked on incompatible H.264 stream that seems to be a big in MakeMKV.

Please open your MKV file in mkvmerge, cut it to be about 10 seconds long, upload to mediafire or dropbox and send the link to support@makemkv.com .

Thanks for your response, Mike! I have emailed you a 10 second clip. Hopefully it'll be an easy fix!
