Sorry I expended the screen to see the full file name
In my downloaded firmware pack the file name is HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin. Not that short as yours. Switch to that directory and do a DIR to see the file name.
SDFToolFlasher. Just start the program and pick the .bin file from that directory that you use in your command line where the .bin is located.
I used the SDFToolflasher and got this error code. Do you know what this means?
Are you in panic mode???
Now you are trying to flash DE_WH16NS40 1.02. You are supposed to flash WH16NS60 1.02. Only after a succesful flash you can also flash other firmware. You understand xxx60 instead of xxx40.
How do I do that? I only have the options below. I tried the LG WH16NS60 but got the same error code.
You need the MK firmware pack, not the downgrade enabled firmware pack. In the MK firmware pack look under the folder OLD.
Or also the all you need firmware pack from Marty listed where SDFToolFlasher is available.
Is MakeMKV installed (in the default location)? SDFtool Flasher is a front-end for the MakeMKV native flash utility. Met all the requirements detailed on the SDFtool Flasher page?
Oh god, I’m an idiot! I forgot to install MakeMKV! THAT was the problem. Once installed, it worked as it should. Thank you for pointing to me what essential part I forgot. (And sorry for the double-post, I was under the impression my message wasn’t sent the first time.)
I see. But that was an example with the file locations on Billy's computer. Your computer had for sure another file location for the .bin files. You should have read the guide here thoroughly and on Windows use SDFToolFlasher which is the easiest way to do it. And you didn't follow the recommendation then what to flash. Call yourself lucky that you didn't screw up your drive regarding everything you did wrong. Fortunately you didn't try to flash a firmware of a slim drive but otherwise somebody can't make almost do more mistakes. In the future please don't do stuff anymore the way you do it.
