That's the LibreDrive Information. Also provide the Drive Information. (above the libredrive information, top right in MakeMKV)
Cheers :D

Hi! I have purchased the same drive and am afraid to brick it. Was anyone able to find the exact correct firmware to flash for this drive?

Here is an example of how I flashed this drive successfully, I used the BU40N 1.03 from the "all you need firmware pack":

./makemkvcon f -d '/IOBDServices/<device_id>' -f /tmp/sdf.bin rawflash enc -i /tmp/HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin

I've successfully ripped multiple Blu Ray 1080p and one 4k UHD so far no problems.

The firmware that shipped with this drive was encrypted: hp_HLDS_BDRE___BU40N_BW43_212011021415_7MEQVHAKKH81JD

Hello All,

I recently purchased an XRTFORE "External 4k blu ray Drive,Aluminum 4k blu ray Burner with Carry Case,USB 3.0 uhd Player,DVD+/-RW External Optical Drive for MacBook Pro Windows Laptop" after listening to This Dude Rufus who informed that the underlying drive is a BU40N. I was also encouraged by this thread.

After a few unsuccessful flashing attempts, i.e. HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin --> LG slim BP50NB40-NB50\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin --> LG slim USB BP60NB10\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935.bin, all from "The all you need firmware pack".

Yes, it was a bit of a guessing game and good-old trial-and-error between ChatGPT and Bing (I know: I like my rewards). However I finally tried a full flash using the following command: ./makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d H: rawflash enc -i "C:\Users\XXXX\Downloads\Multimedia\MakeMKV\mk-firmware-pack-20200720\MK\old\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin", and it worked!

Unfortunately I was unable to use either "SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.6)" or "SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.5)" as I encouter 'Microsoft .NET: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application...StartIndex cannot be less than zero. (Parameter 'startIndex')'. I would like to try and help troubleshoot this error (the tool sounds really nice).

Thanks!
