MKV gets stuck
MKV gets stuck
Hi there. I am ripping Lord of the rings the two towers, the second disc of the appendices. MKV gets stuck at the same spot each time (TItle ID 18; VOBU 39398) with the remaining time of "opening disc" counting up (see picture). I let it run for 6 hours the first time with no progress. There is no message in the log. Had no problems so far with any other disc. Any ideas what could cause the problem?
Re: MKV gets stuck
Same issue here and I've now tried two different disks and both a BlueRay and DVD drive on three or four different versions of MakeMKV.
Like you I am using a Mac (mine is a M1 iMac) but yet to try it on a PC.
I've tried adding the latest keyfile as per viewtopic.php?f=12&t=35328&p=159508 but that did not help (or I am putting it in the wrong place on a Mac - /Users/andrew/Library/MakeMKV).
No dump or errors that I can see and mine stops in exactly the same place as yours.
Activity Monitor shows MakeMKV ticking over at around 1% CPU but no obvious change in disk use (read or write) and the sub-process (MakeMKVcon) is not showing any CPU or disk.
The DVD drive stops spinning as the search hits the same point as your screen shot.

Re: MKV gets stuck
You could try to use a different DVD opening mode to see, if that helps.
Besides, Keyfile will never help with DVDs, as it's a BluRay thing.

Re: MKV gets stuck
I tried changing the opening mode but it did not help. Is this a problem with an individual file on the DVD? Is there a way to manually open the files that are OK?
