Pioneer BDR-208D - "No disk" for UHD

Post by timjohnson408 » Fri Nov 15, 2024 1:37 pm

It very well could be that I'm missing something, but from what I've read on these forums, my drive should be able to read a UHD disk because it is enabled for LibreDrive. Am I wrong? Do I still need to do some extra flashing to get this to work? I have two UHD disks that just give a status of "No disk" when I put it into MakeMKV v1.17.8.

Read your PM.
I went through the tutorial but am getting "Failed to enter kernel mode." I'm on a Windows 10 PC and tried running BDRFlash as admin and also tried rebooting.

Are you sure you followed the instructions by the book? And no disc in drive and tray closed?

isn't that usually a problem with UHD?

No. The limitation exists only with LG / ASUS drives. A 208 has capable hardware.

AhhhhhhI'm an idiot. I initially read your DM about removing the disk but forgot when I got around to actually flashing it.

Calm down. Others did that before and called themselves the same. Until now I had no unsuccessful attempt in the end. Happy UHD ripping!
