Move Internal ASUS BW-16D1HT to an external enclosure

Post by mgsmith.nj »

I've got an ASUS BW-16D1HT internal drive I bought a number of years back. It's unpatched and working perfectly ... in my very old desktop computer.

I'm hoping I can move this to an external enclosure of some form that connects to my laptop via USB-C (Thunderbolt) - Dell with Windows 11.

Two questions:
1. Will this drive still work properly with MakeMKV as an external drive?
2. Does anyone have recommendations on an external enclosure that will support the drive connected to a laptop?

Or the ICY BOX IB-525-U3. It looks similiar to the Vantec.

3rd option: OWC Mercury Pro

Or if you don't use it very often, this is a cheap alternative being a SATA -> USB adapter:

Thanks everyone. I bought the Vantec DX2. It was easy to set up and works perfectly.
