This is a LG BU40N. Simply use SDFTool Flasher and flash it to BU40N 1.03-MK. You can leave it at that or then flash it to BU40N 1.00 for wider software compatibility, if you use ripping software other than MakeMKV.
Cheers :D

Sorry I don't know what that means. I'm new to this. MakeMKV created a file and told me to send support@makemkv.com which I did.

I have a couple of older drives. The one I've been using and works very well is an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U. It wouldn't read the 4k discs though so I bought this Pioneer one, but it doesn't work with MakeMKV apparently. I'll see if I can return it.

I picked up the same model drive recently, here's the info from MakeMKV.

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr0
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D2X-U
Revision: 1.10
Serial number: ADDL211420WL
Firmware date: 2017-04-18
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8511
Firmware version: ID22
Drive seems to work fine in Windows, but I don't want to buy a license for the system. Unfortunately, I'm having issues reading discs in Linux.
