Hi,
I have found that XBMC for Mac is unable to play certain Blu-ray rips. I'm pretty sure that XBMC is the problem because the rips play in VLC. When I make m2ts copies of the same feature XBMC plays them without trouble. The only problem with this is that it is some times not possible to determine which files comprise the main feature. I'd like to see a m2ts main feature extraction function included in makeMKV. The disk which gave me this problem is the Pitch Black (2000) Blu-ray. I tried using DVDfab but the mkv it produced was also unplayable. DVDfab does have a main feature m2ts extraction function and this file played well. Please add a m2ts main feature extraction function to makeMKV.
Thanks,
David

What version of XBMC are you using?dgaschk wrote:I'm pretty sure that XBMC is the problem because the rips play in VLC.
How many audio tracks are there in your MKV file? How many subtitle tracks?
Re: main feature m2ts feature request
XBMC 10.1
3 audio tracks
3 subtitles (all forced only)
Thanks.

Re: main feature m2ts feature request
OK. That can't be it then.
My guess was that there were too many tracks for XBMC to handle.
It uses a semi-old FFmpeg (last time I checked, from before the FFmpeg/Libav split),
and FFmpeg didn't support more than 20 streams until recently.

You can do it today with "streaming" command - then either watch main stream in XBMC or save it to the disc.dgaschk wrote:Please add a m2ts main feature extraction function to makeMKV.
