Hi,
So, I am encountering a very weird issue with a BluRay disc that just came out here in Denmark. The movie is called "Margrete den Første": "https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Margrete ... ay/298440/", the link is for the Finnish release, but the specifications are still correct.
I can convert the movie to MKV, and watch it on all players with no issues. But if I use the backup feature, then something weird happens.
If try to watch the backup via PowerDVD, it either gives me some random DRM message, and just closes. Or, the movie just loads forever, and nothing happens. I then tried DVDFab Video Player, which just loads for ever, and never starts the movie.
And even weirder is, if I try to burn that backup over to an empty BluRay disc, and put it into my BluRay player, I get this message:
"Copy detected (or a rip tool is running if you are trying to watch this movie on your pc)"
I then tried to make a backup via DVDFab 12, and to my surprise, it could play in both PowerDVD and and DVDFab Video Player, or so I thought.
The menus worked fine, but as soon as I pressed "play", I got that same copy detected message again.
I know that DVDFab has nothing to do with makemkv, but I thought that it could help debug the issue.
I have included the logs from makemkv.

DO NOT use PowerDVD to play copies. It is official software and will detect a copy as you have found out. You should use an unofficial player such as VLC or MPC-HC etc. Even DVDFab player should work.noahesbjerg wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 3:25 pmHi,

Re: Copy Detected (or a rip tool is running if you are trying to watch this movie on your pc)
Actually this message is imbedded into the ripped copy and shows up using any player. The rip I am playing displays this message 20 minutes into the film and lasts for one minute. During the message the audio from the first minute of the film is played. This message only shows up once during the movie. BTW this movie happens to be an MP4 file. The site that has the movie that can also be played online. It's been verified the online version has the same message and misplaced audio from that one minute of the movie. So it is the ripper that RARBG uses. I just noticed that the "missing" part of the movie shows up later into the rip. With the right tools, I could cut and paste the rip and patch the movie if only I knew how. The movie is all there.

So you need help with a playlist?

Yep sounds like user error in picking the wrong title, You picked the one that was to trick you. How many titles are there that are identical in runtime and size.Bill E wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 10:28 amActually this message is imbedded into the ripped copy and shows up using any player.
