Then it is an unknown drive platform and can't be upgraded to UHD. Sorry but ASUS is just a reseller of many OEM drives like LG, Pioneer and more.

Hello!
I picked up an Asus SBD-06D2X-U recently, however, I'm having trouble with MakeMKV reading disks in Linux (drive seems to work OK in Windows).
Drive details:
Code: Select all
Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr0
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D2X-U
Revision: 1.10
Serial number: [redacted]
Firmware date: 2017-04-18
Bus encryption flags: 1B
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8511
Firmware version: ID22
I have a firmware dump from Windows and can provide if needed.
Thank you!
