Just by holding this it feels cheap. Who actually manufacturers the Pioneer USB slim drives and are they the same quality as their 5.25 drives?

I know Pioneer outsources most or all electronics today. For instance I have a PLX-1000 record player and while it is very good, it's not fabricated or designed by Pioneer. I know that their original 3.25 floppy drives were Toshiba although I believe their first consumer DVD-ROM (100D?? 101A?? .. big SCSI thing) was actually made my them.

I can add that the flash worked fine using VMware Workstation 17 Player 17.5.0 build-22583795 on Ubuntu 24.04 6.8.0-41-generic and the 64bit windows iso Windows 10 2023 Update | Version 22H2 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/softwar ... ndows10ISO

If you have Pioneer drives (Superdrive?) you need to post their Makemkv info with the "Drive platform" information.
