Force rip to restart

#1 Post by FattyMcGee » Fri Sep 27, 2024 2:37 am

Edit -- Maybe this wasn't happening. Maybe I just didn't understand what it was doing.

This seems like something I should be able to find on my own, but I haven't figured out the terms to search. Sometimes I stop a rip in the middle because it's not progressing, and the timer is going up and up. Then I get a new copy of the disc, and it tries to continue the rip in the middle of the process.

Is there a way to reset things so it starts over from scratch?

Thanks

Trying to figure out how you got MakeMKV to restart a rip, given that it will read a disk from the beginning each time you insert it.

Nope, not coming up with a way. If you eject the disk, MakeMKV assumes that any new disk needs to be read from the start. If you've figured out how to make it do something else, I'd say, "Don't do that!"

The program's author has posted about a potential feature to restart a backup. To my knowledge it hasn't shipped.

Resume interupted backup
