Help with ASUS BW-16D1X-U - Flashable?

Post by bibenbabenboben »

Hey everyone,

I am JUST getting into bluray / 4K ripping and naively purchased the ASUS BW-16D1X-U through a guide I found on HowToGeek without really reading into the topic and/or requirements for 4k ripping.

blurays are working just fine but 4K discs aren't recognized at all.

Is there any way to make my drive be able to read and rip 4k discs or do I just quickly return it?

I'm really sorry if this question has been answered hundreds of times - I've read through a lot of forum posts and frankly been overwhelmed with information.

Thanks in advance!

specs are as follows:
Drive Information
OS device name: G:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: E113
Serial number: CLD[REDACTED]
Firmware date: 2020-07-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: ID76

Your drive contains a Pioneer inside. SDFtool flasher isn't compatible with Pioneer drives.
Cheers :D
