Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Hi,
Sorry to ask again but was just wondering considering the firmware is encrypted is it possible to edit the binary of an older firmware and change the version info on it to fool the updater that its a newer firmware?
Thanks

What about using a usb firmware flasher. There must be a rom chip you can clamp.

I'm not sure. I've flashed motherboard bios chips before but nothing like this.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
I found one of these drives that I never got around to using. Did you end up trying to flash it to XD06 as suggested? How does one flash a BDR-XD05 to XD06 so it can read UHD discs? I'm having trouble understanding how that part would work. I'm willing to roll the dice on it since I didn't even realize I had this drive until today.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
My Mac wasn’t reading my Pioneer BDR-XD07UHD and I updated the firmware to 1.05. Now of course I can’t read UHD discs and it’s killing me. Everything I’m reading says I can’t flash the drive. Is this still true? Do I need to sell this one and buy another drive that works with MakeMKV?

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
EDIT: I didn't think to look in your signature. Doh...
Wow that's awful. It's a shame that it's a UHD player but Pioneer botched it. I don't know why they did that...I'll take a look at other drives to consider. Did I miss a list of compatible UHD drives for MakeMKV?
