Unable to read a DVD - causes a scsi error?

Post by graham.reeds » Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:31 pm

I am trying to rip a dvd to ISO. Most DVD rip within a few minutes - about 15 usually. However this one chugs away for 20+ minutes until it fails with still an hour to go and the following error. I then have to disconnect the drive (usb) and then wait a few seconds before reconnecting it.

If I use create multiple MKV the rip it s successful with 5 titles saved.

How can I get a nice ISO rip?
MakeMKV v1.17.7 win(x64-release) started
Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=4C194CE2C4D1)
Backing up disc into folder "D:/TV Shows/backup/ALIAS_SEASON_5#42B2.iso"
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #1 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #2 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #3 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #4 does not match one in IFO header.
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP60NB10 1.02 SIM03NCFI0401' at offset '0'
Backup failed

While looking around for fixes I came across xreveal. It now copies fine!
