When I play MKV Blu-Ray rips from MakeMKV on my WDTV Live, no subtitles are displayed. I can choose them, but they won't show. The subtitles show fine in VLC on both Mac and PC.
Is this a shortcoming of MakeMKV or the WDTV, and can anything be don about it?
No subtitles on WDTV?
Re: No subtitles on WDTV?
It's a limitation of the WDTV. They have only just added PGS subtitles in MKV's to their firmware and it's buggy as hell. You can try remuxing the MKV file with mkvmergeGUI and see if that fixes it.

Re: No subtitles on WDTV?
1) is it a WDTV or a WDTV Live?
2) a) if it's a WDTV Live, make sure the firmware is up-to-date
2) b) if it's not a Live unit, I don't know whether it support Blu-ray subtitles
3) if subtitles still don't display, try remuxing them with mkvmerge (from Mkvtoolnix)
