Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I dont add the cmv4.0 metadata that cannot be transferred in this list. JW4 is in the red list because it expands brightness as the note says and this has nothing to do with the cmv4.0 transfer.
If the web metadata and bd are the same, it can be transferred regardless of if fel expands brightness or not which is why Mario bros is in both sections. It expands brightness but also the same metadata as the web.
BTW, the movie ''IF'' that just came out, has the mostly same L1 but they completely redid the trim pass for the bluray:

Oh come on I just replaced the x700 with the Ugoos lmao. And this thing only costs $100?mreastman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:34 pmGoogle is dropping a new 4k streaming device: https://store.google.com/us/product/goo ... r?hl=en-US

But given google's track record with the chromecast, i don't have much hope.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
What does HYBRID in the title mean? For example: Tenet.2020.UHD.BluRay.2160p.DTS-HD.MA.5.1.DV.HEVC.HYBRID.REMUX-FraMeSToR. Is it hdr10 bluray version with DV already injected from web version? Meaning we don't have to do it ourselves?
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
There are also other questions like audio passthrough. We'll wait and see.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 10:59 pmOh come on I just replaced the x700 with the Ugoos lmao. But beside that, i will only buy stuff that is fully tested by reset_9999
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
There is very little chance it'll be useful for profile 7 fel. It's not impossible but extremely unlikely. I grabbed one just to play around with. I have a whole collection of useless streaming devices kicking around. Lol I don't hold out any hope that this will be a good device for local media.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
A user from CoreELEC forum just posted this:
TLDR: CMv4.0 bug
Hey all - quick question.
I just received my AM6B + yesterday with the n firmware installed from the factory.
I installed the CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.1-Omega_nightly_20240804-Generic.img.gz without incident, utilizing dual boot, and was able to install the updated plexmod, etc etc.
All appears to be well. Everything appears to play just fine, dolby vision p7 MEL/FEL files (other profiles too) - it triggers DV on my Sony A80J OLED.
The only weird thing I’ve noticed is the following: I downloaded a ton of test files to test out the different capabilities of the DV engine. The only one that is giving me trouble are the CMv4.0 mks/mp4s. Every CMv2.9 files I test (the ones with the red screen), all the trims appear to work.
However, with multiple CMv4.0 files I’ve tried, the 4.0 trims never appear to actually work on the first try. Meaning, I can only get the trim layer to show “CMv4.0 working” whenever I skip around the video file (usually they are 60s long). if I rewind the video 10 seconds, this can sometimes cause the 4.0 trim to appear; but again,if I play video from the beginning, it will only show the 2.9 trim red screen. This is the same whether I hook up the Ugoos directly to my TV, or using my Q990c receiver to passthrough the video (which it also does just fine). So whether it’s direct to the TV or passthrough’d the receiver, the output is still the same.
My Ugoos is in TV-LED mode.
Any idea why this is the case? i know 4.0 files are rare and only used for streaming mainly (I bought this device for remux p7 BL + EL capability) - but it’s still kind of bothering me when I’ve heard this device can properly decode 4.0 files. Which again, it clearly CAN - since I can trigger the trim to decode by skipping around the test file; but it never works when I just hit play. By the way, I’m just playing this video files directly off the “files” part of Kodi in CoreElec, connected to my Windows over Wi-Fi via SMB.
I doubt it’s the Wi-Fi though - I played A Quiet Place 2160p remux FEL and that played beautifully, and properly passthrough’d the TrueHD + Atmos to my surround sound

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
He's probably talking about my cmv4.0 FEL TEST files.
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/fold ... nUvdZXqsY6
For some reason, it freezes when the player tries to read the cmv4.0 L8 trim with FEL. Most likely because it's a homemade FEL but if you try the other non-fel CMV4.0 test files, there is no issue with the ugoos.
And I watched tons of CMV4.0 FEL original movies and there's no such problem.

I would like to test to know if cmv4.0 is working properly on my Ugoos. Could you point me to the right files to use and what should I pay attention to on screen?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 3:44 pmAnd I watched tons of CMV4.0 FEL original movies and there's no such problem.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
What about those cmv4.0 fel scenes from movies you posted above: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/fold ... hM2pRX192e. Can I use those to test? For example: Wonka (Real scene frame 30 000) CMV4.0 test P8.mp4. How do I know cmv4.0 is working just by looking at it?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 4:15 pmcmv4.0 FEL test file that freezes: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tFmjEc ... drive_link

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It depends. Some CMV4.0 dont have any L8 trims but the cmv2.9 bloc will always have L2 trims because of how Dolby works in a cmv4.0 workflow
IIRC wonka is just generated metadata, no manual trims were done for this movie so in this case it is normal to not see any cmv4.0 trim effect.
You can plot the file to determine if the cmv4.0 bloc has an active L8 trim. By active I mean a L8 trim that is not empty(set to 2048).

the movie migration is a CMV2.9 movie according your dovibat? how come?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 4:39 pmIt depends. Some CMV4.0 dont have any L8 trims but the cmv2.9 bloc will always have L2 trims because of how Dolby works in a cmv4.0 workflow

for those who are interested: the conversaton (1974) is a cmv4.0 movie. P7 MEL (according to dovibat of reset_9999)

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Most of the movies are done in CMV4.0 but for the bluray disc releases they are converted from cmv4.0 to cmv2.9 which is why there is a workflow in dovi_scripts (2-3) that can bring the cmv4.0 back into the remux. If you have access to my google drive RPU collection, I already did all the work and most of the newer P7 remux now have cmv4.0 from web.
yes and the trims they did brightens more than the master which is a stupid thing to do because a 400nits tv will get a brighter DV presentation than a 1000nits TV.for those who are interested: the conversaton (1974) is a cmv4.0 movie. P7 MEL (according to dovibat of reset_9999)
