Post by clarkss12 »

You changed your MakeMKV data directory location (Preferences > General tab) to someplace you don't have permission to write to. Default is %UserProfile%\.MakeMKV

Best to use the default because:

- you don't need to change access permissions
- you don't wipe out any customizations when you update to a new version of MakeMKV

Ok, thank you. I will try to set it the default location.

I uninstalled the app but when I download it and install it, it still wants to install to my "C:\Program Files (x86)" location,
How do I get it to install to the default location?? Thanks.

The installation location is correct.

Preferences > General tab > MakeMKV data directory

By default (windows) this is defined as C:\Users\yourusername/.MakeMKV

You changed this location (or so it appears) to the installation directory, which you don't have write access to, All you need to do is NOT change that default location after installation.
