Here is the MakeMKV window :

https://ibb.co/jHGN7BV

If you can help me through this process it would be much appreciated. i can pay you a little fee for this if it works.
I see and did you test it before you flashed it?
What is the build date on the drive?
How it it hooked up to the PC direct SATA or what model USB adapter?
You mean if i was using the drive before i flashed it ? Yes i had been extracting CDs and DVDs since i bought it in december 2021 until right before i flashed it.
I don't know where to find a build date. I don't see that information either on the packaging or the drive itself. But Like i said it was working until right before i flashed it so i think firware change is the cause and not the drive being too old (if that was the sens of your question).

It's an external model so i plug it through usb 3.0. Here is a capture of my device manager window : https://ibb.co/2c9Y41r (sorry it's in french but i think you still get the harware information)

Thanks !

just post the top label of the drive it has the build date
the device manager does not help me help you
but if it worked with this before then the adapter should be fine.

I meant inside of the drive but whatever.
Really last chance of it working is writing the bootloader too when you flash try that and flash to wh16ns60 1.02

If that don't work the drive is dead

The video follows this guide though. i'm pretty sure the is a way to revive it but the time for me to figure it out, it's actually cheaper to buy a new one.

the guide no where says to flash BU40N to your asus you said you followed the video and did that
my guide clearly says asus on any fw directly to 3.10mk

yes you're right i just followed the video (which says follow Marty's guide) and didn't read your guide or MArty's guide myself. the comments were all praising the tutorial and i had no idea this could result in this.

Hello folks,

Apologies if this has been asked and covered ad nauseum, but I am having an issue with crossflashing my LG BP50NB40 NB50 drive. I think I have made a mistake when I originally flashed my fw v1.0 to 1.03. Instead of using the marty version, I used the ones on the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634) that goes to the google drive folder. I was able to flash to 1.03 using the write function on SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.5), however when trying to crossgrade to either the BP60NB10 or the BU40N version, it says, "Done successfully, please wait.", but I am unable to play any 4k disks and I don't see that version reflected on MakeMKV nor the SDFtool Flasher. MakeMKV provides me this info:

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BP50NB40
Revision: 1.03
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2120-05-07 09:17
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 60

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.03
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

I tried to download the Marty versions of the bin files and write 1.03_mk to the drive (don't know if that worked at all) and crossflash it to the BU40N and BP60NB10 bin files but to no success. They all say it was successfully done but I am unable to paly anything other than blu rays. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

You need to use the recovery option for the crossflash. Follow the gif in the first post of this thread.
Cheers :D

Hi there! Thanks for responding and helping me out. I should have mentioned earlier in my initial post that I used write to update to 1.03 and recovery for the crossflash as per the instructions.
