MakeMKV Windows App

Post by gogginguy »

I've ripped the 70GB file from the 4K/UHD disk of JAWS.

Listed below are the audio tracks for the file. First, there should be a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track -- and the (Default) track is not DTS. Second, the two French tracks are actually English and neither is DTS

The TRUEHD is TRUEHD and Spanish DTS is Spanish DTS.

Is anyone else experiencing this with JAWS or any other title? Is there a way to get English DTS from this title? Thanks in advance!

Audio tracks:
English DTS stereo (Default) (this is not DTS)
English TRUEHD 7.1
English AC3 5.1
Spanish DTS 5.1
French DTS-HD HRA 7.1 (this is English (Stereo))
French DTS 5.1 (this is English (Stereo))

If you use the utility mediainfo on the .mkv file, what does it show?

I do not have/use that utility. It should be required to answer the question as I can't be the only person who experiences this.

DVDCompare.net suggests only the included 1080p blu-ray disc includes a DTS-HD MA track, though it is a 7.1 track, not a 2.0 track.

That also seems to match what's listed for the two versions on blu-ray.com:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Jaws-4K-Blu-ray/265299/
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Jaws-4K-Blu-ray/364087/

The 4K & 1080p disc seem to just have a DTS 2.0 mono track; I don't see a mention anywhere of a DTS-HD MA 2.0 track. What format is yours if not DTS?

I agree, everyone should use mediainfo. Then we don't have to take their word for it for whatever tracks they say is in their file. :D
