Can I get a recommendation for Ireland, please?
5,25 or slim external? Check with asmcom if you want a ready-to-work drive.
Preferably external drive and ideally in EU. Since Brexit there is extra tax for shipping from UK (where I believe asmcom ships from :) to Ireland. Thanks a lot!

You need to have access to a Windows PC to make it work.
You mean for the flashing? That can be arranged.

Buy a Verbatim 43888 if available in Ireland. The only drawback is that it is power hungry and doesn't work on all USB3 ports. Otherwise get one from Asmcom. He is located in Northern Ireland and so no duty applies to shipments to you or in the whole EU.

Awesome work here.

I need two recommendations for Germany/Europe:

1) external slimline BluRay burner USB-C (ideally supporting the burning of M-Discs)
2) 5,25 internal BluRay burner SATA

Thx a lot.

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a drive. Unfortunately, the WH14NS40 and WH16NS40 models are currently unavailable in my region (EU/Germany). Can anyone suggest an alternative?

Thanks in advance!

My Pioneer drive arrived from Amazon last night. I’ll be installing it my PC later today.

Just installed and flashed the new Pioneer drive and I’m up and running again after my old ASUS drive had failed.

@Coopervid - thank you again.

Like many others I am looking for a reliable UHD drive for use with LibreDrive. Australia-based; happy to order from most places.

Looking for a reliable UHD drive (5.25" windows) for use with LibreDrive to backup my Bluray Ultra HDs. Situated in Canada - can order from most places. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I also need some recommendations for Europe/Germany.

I already have some LG 5 1/4" SATA Drives I flashed to Libres some years ago and find it a good idea to update my stock :-)

Intention: ripping HD & UHD BD.

Thanks für suggestions.

I currently am on my second ASUS BW-16D1HT, and it's starting to break down in the same way the first one did: After about 80-100 rips, it is doing excessive seeking, drive spinup/down, etc. so I guess I've "used it up" just like the first one. (The previous one died so hard it took a disc with it, gouging grooves into the disc and ruining it.)

I want a reliable internal SATA drive for BD and UHD rips. Ripping speed is not my primary concern; reliability is. Based on reading this thread, Pioneer is the best for this? I'm in the USA, is there a recommended model as of this posting (July 2024) I should get?
