yes, when it's already the right values, you skip. As I said, L5 is rarely incorrect on Bluray.

I just checked Blue Beetle in aviSynth and it crops at 277 for top and 277 for bottom, while it reports 276 for top and 277 for bottom in dovi scripts. I guess we have to edit L5 for this one...
What happens if I don't edit L5? Like if I don't do any of this stuff and just watch the original bluray with the wrong L5, will I notice something wrong with the picture?

L5 tells the TV the part of the image(active area) to display/tonemap but all the hdmi devices ignore L5 so it doesn't matter to them. Only your TV internal player uses it.
there are L5 test files on my GD, try them and see what it does: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/fold ... fx6vRYDEfs

so with 0-0-277-277 L5 with a 16/9 video, the TV will display/tonemap: 3840x1606 pixels (it will exclude 554pixels row top/bottom)
276/277 will be 3840x1607 pixels meaning 1 row of pixels that are black bars will get tone mapping. A 1 pixel row is not enough to cause any visible defect though.

Huh? So if I'm using the Ugoos AM6B+ it won't matter if L5 is correct or not, or am I misunderstanding sth here?

Ok nice. I can save time by skipping editing L5 then.

and it's only because I know him personally and I know that he always does all the necessary checks.
Some older framestor releases are wrong and I just checked the Captain America hybrid is still available on BHD even though it's a VERY different grade and the RPU is not even in sync with the BL.
Same for their Black Widow release and others.

You can pm the list of hybrids you're not sure and I can have a look if i can find them.
Framestor Mando S02E08 Hybrid UHD out of sync too - prob all the (d+ or iT/D?) stuff

I never watched a movie with it so I don't know about its stability but as far as Dolby Vision decoding goes, it seems to do everything right (minus the same red push as the shield).

It doesnt trigger DV on your TV, you need a certified DV monitor for that. It decodes the DV metadata to HDR10 or SDR according to your EDID, the same as LLDV.

Yeah. Just noticed that in your spreadsheet. Dolby Vision scene remains dead on pc.

Put Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) in the list of web releases that is only cmv2.9. Just wasted a few hours downloading several versions of it; all are 2.9.

@RESET_9999 I'm testing The Marvels (2023), which is an HDR10 movie. I'm trying to inject DV cmv4.0 from the web release into the bluray one. Should I strictly follow the P8 hybrid tutorial or there's another way to inject DV so that the final file remains profile 7 mkv?

Why would you want to do that? P7 is pointless without FEL. As far as DV quality goes: P7 FEL > P5 > P7 MEL = P8
I actually always convert P7 MEL to P8.

Does it have to be P8 ts or it can be P8 mkv? In the P8 hybrid tutorial the final file is ts
