Aliens 4K (Ultimate Collector Edition)
Re: Aliens 4K (Ultimate Collector Edition)
My 3rd replacement that just came in finally worked. Was able to rip both the Theatrical and the Special Edition portion. Yeah, the initial batch of these discs definitely had some QC issues.

Re: Aliens 4K (Ultimate Collector Edition)
I found this with a lot of discs lately. I recently sent back my new TOS Movies 4k collection for a replacement because of concentric scratches that made 2 of the discs unrippable. Now, anytime I get a disc, I immediately inspect it, just to make sure.

How did you rip the movie? I have been using dvdFAB but something has gone wrong with dvdFAB and now takes over 90hrs to rip. How did you get it to record into one complete file instead of a bunch of files?rkhollister wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 9:32 pmso I just received my copy from DiabolikDVD. Instead of using one of my Pioneer drives, I used my LG as a test. Both cuts ripped fine, no issues.
I have no idea what is going on with these discs but my copies of The Abyss and Aliens have ripped fine.
Also, is there a way that I can take the 2 discs of Ben Hur and Zach Synder's Justice League and make it into one file containing both discs?
I have the latest version 1.17.6 which if disc contains whole movie in one file like The Last Castle it works fine. Thanks for your help.

I use MKVToolNix to split/combine videos. I use it mainly for anime, since a lot of anime I have been putting in my system tends to have all the titles in 1 file. I use MKVToolNix to split the files by chapter, then recombine individual episodes.tbrady3742@aol.com wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 3:05 pmHow did you rip the movie? Where did you get MKVToolNix? DVDfab does this so much easier but it isn't working for me at the moment.Shwalamazula wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 1:32 amI use MKVToolNix to split/combine videos. My LG BU40N has been acting up lately and was taking several attemps to rip certain discs. I was able to rip True Lies without issue and tried Alies (Director's Cut). Couldn't get it to rip and had a lot of errors. Decided to get the Pioneer BDR-S13UBK and Aliens ripped without any issues.

That could be the problem because I haven't had any issues with ripping blu-rays. Actually happened after I tried to rip Aquaman 2Toker wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 4:54 pmMy LG BU40N has been acting up lately and was taking several attemps to rip certain discs. Thanks for the link. Didn't work for Aliens, had to send back to get another copy but it did work on other 4K discs. I also found out that there was multiple files of movies on discs. Every time I ripped a Star Wars disc, it would show foreign language at the beginning. The one with the English writing was at the bottom. Same thing for the Pixar/Disney movies. Thought they were sending me movies that was supposed to be sent overseas. LOL Thanks again for showing me this program.

You may be able to help me. I usually use DVDfab to rip movies but has been acting up with 4Ks so I've been using makeMKV. Is makeMKV like DVDfab where they have to load the program or whatever it is they do before the program recognizes the disc? When I loaded both American Sniper and Dune part 2, says failed to open disc.tbrady3742@aol.com wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 5:46 pmThanks for the link. Just remember, if you want to combine titles, you will want to select "Append" in the multiplexer to have one file play right after the previous one. If you just add a second file, it will just wrap both in the same container (you will end up with an mkv with 2 video streams).tbrady3742@aol.com wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 5:46 pmThanks for the link. If I want to join to discs together like Zack Snyder's Justice League, I would have to select append so it would join the two files together make one complete movie instead of having two files?Shwalamazula wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 5:13 pmJust remember, if you want to combine titles, you will want to select "Append" in the multiplexer to have one file play right after the previous one. Re: Aliens 4K (Ultimate Collector Edition)
Correct. You would load your Part 1 file into the multiplexer. Then right-click on it and select Append. Then choose your Part 2.

Re: Aliens 4K (Ultimate Collector Edition)
This thread has wandered WAY OFF TOPIC!
I have this UltraHD set and there aren't any files that need to be joined (unless you're doing something with all the still images on the Bonus Disc).
So, might I suggest that you start a new topic if you want to discuss appending files using MKVToolNix? Or better still, find an existing topic on the subject and discuss it there?

Don't want to seem rude, but if it doesn't bother them to answer me, why does it bother you? If I'm looking through something and it isn't what I'm looking for or need I keep going. I also have asked this in threads that it was intended for but got no reply and they have been very helpful with what I've been trying to find an answer for for almost a year. They have made using this program so much easier and enjoyable. A lot better than the replies I get when I ask questions at DVDfab. Even my reply has seemed rude or not very nice, I sincerely apologize and I hope you have an awesome weekend.Radiocomms237 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 12:14 amThis thread has wandered WAY OFF TOPIC!
