Blu-Ray release of "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" has issues.

I bought a brand new copy of 2013's "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" recently and despite popping the seal on the plastic myself and with a flawless, new disc, MakeMKV seems to having issues pulling the third title off of the first disc.



Titles 1, 2, and 4 seem to work just fine. I've tried ripping the titles on two platforms (PC & Mac), via manual mode, and via a full disc backup on a local drive with the same results every time. I haven't gotten to discs 2, 3 or 4 yet, mostly out of sheer frustration.

Any ideas?

"Popping the seal" does not mean "flawless". It just means you're the first person to attempt to read the disk. If the disk is actually from 2013, it's had 11 years to get in-package chemicals accumulating on the surface.

Try cleaning the disk with a soft, damp cloth.
