1.17.6 Slow Rips Pioneer BDR-208

Ever since updating to 1.17.6, not a single time has my Pioneer BDR-208 gone faster than 2.0x on rips.
In the past, sometimes it would randomly do a 2.0x and I would simply eject the disc and restart the process.
Any thoughts on things I should try? This drive is libre capable, is using that mode, nothing else has changed.

you can try using makemkv drive speed control it not like the lg/asus where it can bring it above the rated speed.
or the pioneer drive utility it basically the same thing
