Donnie Darko Theatrical Disc Error

I bought the standard arrow 4k edition of donnie darko and the the theatrical cut disc won't read at all. The director's cut works fine. Using my WH16NS60 with patched firmware, all my other Blu-rays and 4k UHD Blu-rays load up fine in VLC. Inserting the theatrical cut, the drive makes some heavy loading noises while trying to read it but after a while it seems to give up and says "No disc inserted". Loads up fine on the living room DP-UB150. Debug file only says "DEBUG: Code 3 at 6CF;l<+$x9]D6No(y!wmrg:29395310"

I thought it might be a bad disc, because I found out that the theatrical disc in the collector's edition had a bad batch, but arrow said the standard edition should be unaffected as it was made after they fixed the issue.

If anyone else has this disc and could tell me if their disc gets read it would be very helpful.

I dumped mine out some time ago (when I received it, right about the time it was released), and it worked just fine for me. Your WH16NS60 might be starting to get picky about discs - mine did that before it stopped reading all discs (I now have 2 BU40N drives, which work fine).

I also had a problem ripping that Disc. The Theatrical Cut was perfectly fine but the Directors Cut took around 3 hours. Thankfully the rip was successful and it works fine. Usually a rip takes around 1 hour. Initially the Disc wasn't reading properly. I use a Pioneer BDR-XD07TUHD with a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro running the latest Ventura OS. That drive required no updates and worked straight out of the box.
