Office Space Special Edition with Flair

#1 Post by poorpilot » Thu Aug 11, 2011 6:51 am

Hey, I tried to use Makemkv on this movie but it uses BD+ and it just stalls and never makes a file larger then 4K. I sent in the SVQ file, is there anything else I should try? Thanks

Considering that it's a 2009 release, the BD+ should not present a problem.

Clean the disc and examine it carefully for physical damage (scratches, cracks)...

I just picked this disc up in Target, it ripped fine.

SO this is weird. I made a backup of the movie to my HD with Makemkv and it copied everything fine. However, when I try to make an mkv file it still stalls at 4.0K copied. The disc is brand new, should I just exchange it and try that?

I got a new copy of the disc and it still doesn't work, it stops at 4.4K and the drive access light is flashing like it is reading but it does not work. I attached a copy of the log

So weird, I thought I'd already ripped it but I can't find the file on my TV.

Anyway, I'm sure Mike will know what to do.

I am experiencing the exact same problem.

This disc ripped successfully with an older version of MakeMKV so it is an issue with the latest release.

What happens if you make a full decrypted disc backup with MakeMKV, and then try making MKV file from a backup on HDD?

The disc rips fine to the HDD, then when you open the backup and tell it to create an MKV file, it does the same thing again. Just ties up the HDD as the read rate steadily increases then maxes out.

On a related note I have just ran in to problems with ripping Die Hard(s) which also uses BD+, they all ripped fine with an older version either 1.6.10 or 1.6.12 (I can't remember which) Now with 1.6.13 I can't rip any with BD+, it just gets stuck at the already mentioned 4K file size.

Someone else has reported a problem with Avatar that sounds related to this one:
