I'm running into the same issue "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted. Failed to open disc"

When you say the latest keydb.cfg works, can you explain that more. Been using MakeMKV for years now and have not come across this mentioned previously. Is this something that needs to be updated on my end?

You have to download the keydb.cfg file (search the interwebthingies, you'll find it) and then drop it into your MakeMKV's data directory (see, preferences, general tab). Once you do that, if there's an entry for your title, it'll open fine.

I thought according to this viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24711 it would be done automatically if you have internet access when using Makemkv.

I was able to piece this together from things I read in several places.

In order to resolve this issue (on macOS), the file keydb.cfg needs downloaded (http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net) and placed in the Users/<username>/Library/MakeMKV folder, then the restart the app. No other changes are needed.

Wonka decrypts fine after doing this.

I downloaded the most recent keydb.cfg file and did a text search through it. Wonka (2024) is not in it. The old Willy Wonka releases are there but the new movie is not. I was surprised to hear it was in the DB when the message stating it was posted the day before the disc was released. I was not surprised to see that it is not in the file LOL
