HDI Dune can't play MKV from version 1.6.12

Post by mattmullen@me.com » Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:03 pm

Hello,
I have been ripping my DVD and Bluray collection using MAKEMKV and it has been working great on my HDI Dune Smart D1. Ever since I upgraded to version 1.6.12 from 1.6.10 my Dune player is unable play the files created with 1.6.12. The files play fine with VLC but not on the Dune. I would like to roll back to version 1.6.10 but I can't find a link to the file, the previous version section has version 1.6.8 which will not function, I get an error saying this version is too old. Any Ideas?

I have a Dune Base 3.0 and a few Smart H1's in my house and I have had no problems playing back MKVs made by MakeMKV 1.6.12.

To use 1.6.8 , install 1.6.12 into separate folder, enter current beta key or your key in 1.6.12. After that you can use 1.6.8 on the same computer. However I'm surprised that you have problems with 1.6.12 - can you post a mediainfo output of problematic MKV file?

There were pretty much zero DVD-related changes between 1.6.10 and 1.6.12 . Please try to remux the file from 1.6.12 with mkvmerge mmg and see if it will become playable.
