Naming Templates - One preset for TV Shows, another for Movies

Post by 9Nails » Thu Jan 25, 2024 5:27 am

Maybe this is a feature request, but, does there exist a way to create a preset naming template inside of MakeMKV?

To elaborate, I would like to store TV Shows under "Show name \ Season # \ Show Name (year) Season ## Episode ## - Episode title.mkv"

I would like to store Movies under "Movie Title (year) \ Movie Title (Year) - (4K, 1080, DVD and/or -featurette, -behindthescenes, etc...).mkv"

It would be nice to pick from a list of naming presets in MakeMKV, such as: #1 (TV Shows), or naming preset #2 (Movies). I might go months of doing nothing in MakeMKV and get a new movie or a new series and my old brain forgets all the special conventions of naming.

I often fix up naming problems after the fact using mkvpropedit. As such, I have a text file I named "handy command lines.txt" that has a bunch of examples and special cases to help my old brain remember all the stuff I've supposedly learned. Something similar might work for you.
