Can't treat/read BRdiscs nor UHD anymore, DVD ok

#1 Post by martinbrady » Sun Jan 14, 2024 11:13 am

Hello
Makemkv suddenly announces "No disc inserted" any time I try to process a bray or a uhd
as of Playback, VLC don't play those anymore

DVDs are played and mkv-processed OK

I uninstalled and re-installed Makemkv 1.17.5 with the same new issue

I suppose the Asus BC-12D2HT alone has to be suspected
(I re-tried one BR precedently having caused no trouble at all, this time with the same new issue)

I of course would not care much purchasing a new player! I Meant a new drive!!!:?

thanks for your answers

I forgot to post the log:

OK
if anyone had the idea of proposing a key to this post, let him forget it!

Wiping the br was enough, Makemkv did the job

What I don't get is that as said in my initial post :
(I re-tried one BR precedently having caused no trouble at all, this time with the same new issue)
I mean failed issue, is that:
the same br [Godfather 2] is now "willing" to get ripped and "willing" to be played (VLC) which was not the failed issue precedently

>>>so I suppose my disc cleaning cleaned the drive too, or something of this kind, beyond my understanding :)

I was not anxious to upgrade the drive and I think I was right
have a good night
