Hi, sorry I posted twice on accident. You can look the model I wrote. A few posts upRESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 3:07 pmwhich TV ?
My LG C2 have a bug and Chroma weight is not working regardless of tv-led / player-led. It doesn't even work with the internal player.
Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

L o l, I thought that’s what EDID was reporting based on all the previous posts, back to square 0. It must be hidden in the TVs firmware. I don’t recall seeing anything in service menu or ez adjust of my E7.

Since it's quite a old TV, it might not support TV-LED.

Ah that sucks. Am I missing a lot if I can only use LLDV?
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It's apparently 810 nits AFAIK. 990 nits for the G2.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 5:11 pmthanks for confirming, it makes sense.
What is the internal config for tmax in our C2
Mine measures around 815-825 nits IIRC.

Interesting, maybe get calibration commands can tell us something. I didn’t calibrate my E7, I applied someone else’s calibration file. I’ll browse and see if there’s something there I can use on my 2017 E7 (nope I get asyncio.exceptions.TimeoutError, most likely doesn't work with older models).

Not much since Chroma Weight is rarely used in real content.

( I put ''chroma weight'' in the filename when I see one)

Ok thanks I'll check those out. I saw Vincent's video saying how the TV-LED is better because the colors are more accurate. But I have also seen comments here that that video doesn't mean much. Is TV-LED more accurate for the colors or does that video not matter?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 6:23 pmNot much since Chroma Weight is rarely used in real content.

Better color mapping, maybe? but I wouldn't say LLDV has inaccurate colors as long as the player doesn't have bugs (shield red push) and Chroma Weight is not used by the colorist.
The difference shown in Vincent's video is definitely Chroma Weight and the Spears and Munsil montage he used is a VERY bright grade(4000+) which is not representative of the average Movie HDR grading (0-1000nits) so indeed, his video doesn't mean much for real content viewing.

Oh good. Does the X700 have bugs like that?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 6:53 pmBetter color mapping, maybe? but I wouldn't say LLDV has inaccurate colors as long as the player doesn't have bugs (shield red push) and Chroma Weight is not used by the colorist.

Red push, no.
It has issues with EDID higher than 1000nits though but your TV is only 500nits so you're ok.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Ok good thanks, cause I saw another comment of yours saying the X800M2 having less bugs than X700 and I thought maybe I should have gone with that one.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 7:00 pmRed push, no.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
For just DV playback, the x700 and oppo have the DT-DL TS/MT2TS rip bug which locks the player if you try to play two files in a row (quite annoying).
The X800m2 does not have this bug.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Good to know. I thought I wasted my money for a second because apperantly I cannot do TV-LED but with LLDV for real content there is no difference I guess.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 7:05 pmFor just DV playback, the x700 and oppo have the DT-DL TS/MT2TS rip bug which locks the player if you try to play two files in a row (quite annoying).
