First blu rip “wild hogs”
First blu rip “wild hogs”
So on my dvds that I was practicing on I would just rip the largest file but on my first blu rip I get 8 files of the above. 1 and 8 the same size and both play in plex the rest are just extras but all play, any help on what to look for on which to keep please ?
Thanks

Re: First blu rip “wild hogs”
Is this a Disney or related disk? You didn't say.
Disney often puts English and Spanish (and or French) versions on the same disk, with the titles changed into the appropriate language (i.e., Spanish for text). Otherwise, the tracks are identical. You chose the one you want to play (or rip).

Wild Hogs (2007)
^ that one maybe, a Tim Allen comedy.
Does one of the movies have chapters and one does not? If that's the case, keep the one with chapters.

When you click on each file in the left pane, you will see it's name and info in the right lower pane. You should be ripping playlist files (.mpls), not the direct video files (.m2ts). The playlist file should also contain chapters.RobTi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 10:48 pmSo on my dvds that I was practicing on I would just rip the largest file but on my first blu rip I get 8 files of the above. 1 and 8 the same size and both play in plex the rest are just extras but all play, any help on what to look for on which to keep please ?

If the correct .mpls to rip isn't obvious, follow this tutorial on playlist obfuscation to learn to identify the correct one to rip. Hasn't failed me yet, if memory serves me correctly Lionsgate BR's can often have a hundred or so dummy .mpls of the same length as the main movie, again this method hasn't failed me.RobTi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 10:48 pmSo on my dvds that I was practicing on I would just rip the largest file but on my first blu rip I get 8 files of the above. 1 and 8 the same size and both play in plex the rest are just extras but all play, any help on what to look for on which to keep please ?

The youtube video is a bit dated, our favorite studio has managed to fool that method.Nucleus wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 11:02 amIf the correct .mpls to rip isn't obvious, follow this tutorial on playlist obfuscation to learn to identify the correct one to rip. ThanksAlternatively copy the whole disc with MakeMKV and then use @MartyMcNuts tool GetMPLS to find the correct .mpls to rip. I've used this method on a couple of UHD rips recently and it was successful both times.Code: Select all

Have never tried Marty's tool though, definitely wanna check.

Re: First blu rip “wild hogs”
So, I just pulled my Wild Hogs blu-ray disc out of the cupboard and on my disc, the correct playlist is 00001.mpls which contains 15 chapters and is 24.4GB in size.RobTi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 10:48 pmSo on my dvds that I was practicing on I would just rip the largest file but on my first blu rip I get 8 files of the above. 1 and 8 the same size and both play in plex the rest are just extras but all play, any help on what to look for on which to keep please ?
