HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS60 Revision: 1.03 Will Not Read Bluray or UHD

Post by brisk.home8904 » Thu Dec 28, 2023 4:22 pm

This drive HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS60 will not read bluray or UHD drives, reads DVDs fine. I have re-flashed the firmware, tried versions 1.02 and 1.03, no luck. I have another drive just like this, with firmware 1.03, and it reads all the disks including UHD just fine. It says there is no disc inserted but the UHD of Oppenheimer is currently in the drive. Any ideas or suggestions for fixing this?

Also any chance of drive HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CH12LS28 Drive platform: RS1013 Firmware version: 1.00-G3 getting Libre enabled?

Did you try a regular BluRay? If that fails the blue laser is dead.

Mine seems have done the same - it reads CDs but nothing else. I think it's dead - so replacement ahoy

Reads nothing but DVDs sounds like I need a new drive.

Do you know of any testing software to verify if lasers are working or not?
