Need help with UHD disc with my lg bu40n

I have an LG bu40n and just bought Bloodsport in 4k and wanted to rip it, however, my drive does not even recognize the disc (a 100gb disc )

The drive also had some issues not long ago with reading Blu-rays, but it seems it has fixed itself. I don't know if my drive is being weird or if it is just not capable of reading the disc, even though it should be able to (according to what I know).

Give the disc a clean before trying again. Also, don't open MakeMKV until after the OS has initialised the disc.

It does not seem to help Since the os doesn't recognize it either

A question I have is if it could be the firmware on the drive? I have a drive with a rom version of 1.04 (on the sticker) and I have as can be seen flashed it so it thinks its revision is 1.03

It probably is not the firmware version. The recommended firmware for a BU40N is 1.03 MK, which is what your drive was showing. Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide

Most likely the disc is dirty or has an almost invisible film on it that's making it hard for the laser to pick it up. Less likely but possible is the laser pickup itself might be dirty.

Triple layer, 100GB discs can are the hardest to read.

After trying to clean the disc multiple times I finally decided to try and clean the laser on the disc drive and that seemed to work. I had thought about it, but finally decided to do it after I tried to load it on my friends ps5 where it successfully read the disc. So end result is to also try and clean the laser
