Recommended Firmware to flash for AnyDVD

Post by 2-perf »

Hi, I have a WH16NS40 1.04-Stock. What would be the best firmware to use with AnyDVD? I don't have to be able to write BD-R with this drive.

In the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide, for a WH16NS40, the recommended firmware to flash for MakeMKV is WH16NS60 1.02-MK. The thing is, I read somewhere that it won't work with AnyDVD. Is that true? What would be the second best option that would allow the use of AnyDVD? No sleep bug would be great to.

Thank you!

Thank you Billycar11, works like a charm!

A friend is about to get a WH16NS40 1.05-Stock which I've read has an encrypted firmware. Can I flash it directly to WH16NS60 1.02-MK too? I believe the "enc" option has to be checked in Martys SDF GUI flasher to succeed, am I right?

Guys, thank you so much for doing this.

One more thing, although AnyDVD Status window and MakeMKV Info window now report my optical drive (originally a WH16NS40) as a WH16NS60 1.02 since I flashed it, Windows' Device Manager now reports it as a WH14NS40. That's normal I guess?
