The latest version of the SDFtool Flasher has a checkbox option to flash the boot loader with the main firmware to the drive. This is useful for the newer BP50NB40 with SVC: NB52. It's also possible that other newer models may require this option later on. We will all work it out together as we go!!

For the moment, to flash the BP50NB40 SVC:NB52, using the latest SDFtool Flasher, follw the steps below:

1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.

Now for the crossflash:

2. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up, select the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed.
3. Select the BP60NB10 1.00-MK or BU40N 1.00 firmware in the normal drop box.
4. Click START

You want everything pre-cooked. Go to a drive-in at Burger King or McDonalds.

A have ASUS BW-16D1HT
Revision: 3.11
I want to crossflash it to LG HL-DT-ST WH16NS58 with possibility to check BD-R record quality/error in Opti drive software.
please correct me or confirm
1. use ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified) and downgrade FW to ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014 or may be DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.02
2. change FW WH16NS58\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS58-1.V5-NM00900-211802070957

thank you

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You cannot use this flasher as your drive has encrypted firmware. Use the SDFtool Flasher and:

1. flash the drive to WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware.
2. flash to WH16NS58 v5 firmware.

thank you very much
I tried several versions of SDFtool Flasher, and this util does not see any drive.
ASUS is connected to internal SATA of my z790 Motherboard.
I order external IDE/SATa to USB adapter and will try with it or may be connect to old PC (z87)

I reinstalled new MakeMkv and Sdtool flasher now able to found and read my ASUS.
But when I try to write WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware it finished with error code 0x82062900

and I see
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WH16NS60
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: K...
Firmware date: 2118-10-29 19:36
Bus encryption flags: 17

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

the question is can I write next firmware I need - WH16NS58? I'm worried about the error code

P.S. WH16NS58 flashed without error

but some issues appeared
Opti drive started testing BD-Rs, yay.
but!!!
the drive cannot read BD-RE that was previously recorded by it and moreover does not respond to the disk eject button
Only rebooting the PC helps and the disk can be ejected before the computer starts reading it.

Yes, occasionally that error happens but it appears the flash has worked for you. Go ahead and do the second firmware flash.

which of WH16NS58 FW is better?
I had BD-RE issues (unable to eject and read BD-RE) with WH16NS58 1v5
after that I reflashed with WH16NS58 1v5 mk version and it seems works good

The "PRO" is the exact same drive as the BW-16D1HT and has the exact same (identical) firmware. Use the SDFtool Flasher. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896

Hello everyone, I am a new optical drive novice. I recently purchased ASUS BW-16D1HT, which was manufactured in February 2023. Version 3.11. Connect a SATA to USB port and an external power cord to the laptop. The Windows version is Win10. When I use ASUS-ODD-Changer_ (modify). exe, it shows update failure # 1. When I use SDFtool Flasher, it shows "The drive you have selected does not have the correct drive platform (MT1959) and cannot be flashed." How can this be resolved. Thank you very much. Please forgive me, my English level is not very good.
