The Expendables 4

Post by saf001 » Tue Nov 21, 2023 8:39 pm

Hi. I emailed the AACS dump file (tgz). I don't recall sending one in before so hopefully that is the only thing needed. Let me know if there was more although I'm sure others have already sent the correct file.

It is helpful if you post the name of the dump file here. That way others can know if they have the same one you sent in or a different one that they need to email in.

@dcoke22 - thank you. That is what I was looking for. What to do when submitting a file. Appreciate it!

I am wondering if I have a bad disc. I have tried 4 different 4K drives and get this error before it fails with the drives no longer even seeing the disc anymore.

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00278.m2ts' at offset '34043068416'
Error 'OS error - The specified request is not a valid operation for the target device' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0' at offset '34043068416'

The offset is different with each drive or time trying to copy but close to each other in the number. I haven't tried watching the movie direct off the disc yet. It's just weird that 4 different 4K drives (2 slimline and 2 full size, one slimline is a factory 4K drive) fail in similar fashion. So I am leaning towards a bad disc but wanted to post here to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Anything is possible of course, but a similar failure of the same disc in 4 drives feels like a bad disc. Hopefully you've tried to gently clean the disc?

Tried cleaning and didn't change anything. I was able to watch the movie on my 4K Player in the living room and no problems. It's just the 4K drives for computers that hated it. So I sent it back for a replacement and will see what happens when I get it later today.

The medium seems to be in perfect condition. Drive is a Pioneer BDR-XS07U.
