I continue to get the 'failed to open disc' error:

Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Saved AACS dump file as ...MKB20_v77_THE_OTHERS_8EA0.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

So, I resent the dump file this morning. Maybe it's on my end?

I backed up my copy yesterday after I received it. Make sure that your ISP isn't blocking MakeMKV's outgoing connections for hashed key updates, perhaps?

Well that at least confirms it is on my end. Sadly I just switched MakeMKV to my iMac after an old laptop died and I cant seem to find where/how the mac is stopping it. I am pretty sure it's not my ISP since I was able to back up discs before the mac got involved. As it happens I did backup an older 4K title (Silence of the Lambs) on the mac before trying The Others.

I'm using a Win10 desktop and also getting the message that the volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted.

Happy to report that I was able to rip my 4k disc.
