RESET_9999, good afternoon, please tell me what it means (in the screenshot), where can I get prores from?
https://ibb.co/ydyF6HQ
I have installed Dolby_Vision_Professional_Tools_Windows_v5.4.1, if you give the program mkv, it will simply close.
I'm using the latest version DoVi_Scripts_MKV

it means the input cannot be .hevc or .h265... it must be in a container (MKV)

As i pointed out above, if you add mkv, the script just closes

Your DoVi_tool.exe is not the latest version.

1. if it's fel and expands brightness or improves details: MP4 version + workflow 4-3

2. mel or fel that doesn't touch brightness or details: MP4 or TS version + workflow 4-2
Regarding the latest Mission movie, am I correct that the FEL doesn't expand BL brightness. Is there a way to tell if the FEL improves details?

You just have to export a bunch of screenshots with (7-1) as I do here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =917134052
The screenshot workflows(FEL HDR or SDR) are fully automated and very easy to use.

@RESET_9999

When trying to grade HDR in DaVinci, the preview looks washed out (I have a 4K HDR monitor).
Is there any way to get a proper preview without any specific hardware?
If not, what is the most budget friendly option?

you need a capture card supported by Resolve. Alternatively, you can export a couple of 16bit tiffs and add ''transfer=HDR.matrix=2020'' in the filename. Then madvr/MPC will trigger HDR.

Hey @RESET  :D

Any quick way to determine if an HDR10+ metadata on a WEB-DL is generated by the uploader from a conversion of the DoVi metadata ? :?:

I'd like to know if there's a way to determine that when looking at the json file to then not trust those uploaders still doing these bad DoVi to HDR10+ conversions

yes, just plot HDR10plus(6-6) and DV(6-3). The plots will be identical (minus the 10 and 100nits DV floor).

Does anyone know why more playback devices aren't capable of utilizing the 100-nit L2 trim for playback on SDR devices?
I've noticed that Apple, Google, and Amazon devices don't use the 100-nit L2 trim for playback on an SDR device even though all of them are Dolby Vision compatible. I'm following @RESET_9999's tutorial for using the 100-nit trim to create an SDR encode (via Resolve and Staxrip). Thanks!

Not able to replicate this.
