forgive me if I'm misunderstanding but the remote flashing service, does that mean you take control of my p.c remotely to do this or do you just email me a link for a download or something like that? also, I'm uk based does that make any difference for the flash?

many thanks in advance :)

Hi - thanks for all the info. I'm returning to ripping after having been into it a few years ago when it was just BDR. I've acquired this drive, but am confused if it's possible to flash:

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XS07U
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: CDDLxxxxxUC
Firmware date: 2023-01-06
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 77

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8E21
Firmware version: ID05

Sorry if this was obvious, I'm just not super clear.

Thanks in advance for any help!

No, it can't currently be flashed as it has the newer firmware. If the firmware is dated Dec 2022 or newer then it's no good, for now anyway.
Cheers :D

I know some people have returned them but I don't know what reason they used.

I think the only chance you have of getting one with older firmware is from a seller here.
Cheers :D

Amazon offers numerous reasons for making a return.
Selecting any one of them will not affect the return.

Select changed mind or accidental purchase etc

Why on earth did i flashed my pioneer drive ...

Before flashing i looked around and found threads saying "if it's just wrote increase media capability, there no risk" so i flashed dec 2022 ... and opened MakeMKV and went very disapointed

When i bought it, it was on 1.02, flashed 1.03 checked MakeMKV was still ok ... and then :[

Rip no more UHD now
No one here is recommending updates pioneer is out there hurting people pioneer charges $300 for some of those and they won't let people downgrade it's sad it's our hardware we should be able to put whatever software we want on it.

Yeah that sucks we can't flash what we want as soon as we accept the fact of voiding warranty

Like on some smartphones, you wonna flash somthing that is not supported by the contructor ? ok go ahead but you loose warranty :D

And this is that fair :)
