Hello,
Do you know which version of firmware for Pioneer X13U-S is the last libre one? I am not sure whether for this particular drive it is 1.01 or 1.02?

Thank you in advance

Thanks! I just wonder why there is such a big difference between the higher priced Pioneer models and the lower Pioneer ones?

The more expensive models usually have slightly better quality (or additional) components. Pioneer, in general are still better build quality overall though.

Do you know whether there is any information regarding progress / ETA for making it possible to use Pioneer recorder BDR-X13E-S (and many other Pioneer devices with recently updated firmwares) with firmware 1.03 (not libredrive for now) with MakeMKV for UHDs?
I'm aware many people are waiting for that and my question is whether there is even a chance for that or rather not? :)

I for one wish there was a time line. No doubt some of the deep groups out there have reverse engineered these drives, but it has not made it this way yet.
I bought two S13U drives, one has the right firmware, one does not.

Just making sure, a Pioneer BDR-212 built in 2019 with original 1.0 firmware should be a workable unit for UHD discs? Is there any advantage of upgrading it to one of the pre-12/2022 firmwares?

No major advantage long as it's a UHD model it should work and if it's not you can email me for a cross flash kit if it's before 12-22
