The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
Just chiming in that I'm in the same boat; still no joy with the Studio Canal second disc containing the Theatrical Cut.
Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
It's been 3 weeks since the first dump was submitted, and nothing.
This seems to be much longer than normal. is something going on we don't know about?

It's a standard aacs 2.0 should work in a week or 2 if you submitted the dump and your hk downloads workPete B wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 9:29 pmHi. Thanks for the reply.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 4:05 ampost the disc info from makemkv is it a aacs 2.1 disc? if so the wait may be alot longer

Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
Groovy, thanks for letting me know. I'm in New Zealand and we're usually last to get a 4K release so everything usually rips right out of the gate as dumps have usually been made by someone else in the world. I shall sit tight.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:06 amIt's a standard aacs 2.0 should work in a week or 2 if you submitted the dump and your hk downloads workPete B wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 9:29 pmHi. Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
In the 70's they made a film... and a fine, fine film was he.
And from that film, a 4K scan.
And from that scan, there were some files
And on a disc, they burned those files.
And on a plane, they sent that disc.
And from that disc, they tried to rip.
And from that rip, a error came.
And of that error a t... gz.
And they submitted, submitted, submitted, submitted...

The rip did not fail!
Successfully backed up the Theatrical Cut from the Studio Canal Disc 2 after a HK update. Interestingly, the artwork makes no mention of Dolby Vision but there's a MEL in there.
Thanks for getting the thing done so the thing works now.

Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
Still no luck with the final cut. No problems with theatrical / DC.
Maybe my disc is bad? Anyone able to back up the 4K FC?

Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
I get nothing. The disc starts decrypting / opening and then stops, as the "time remaining" increases while the disc sputters.
Note the disc plays perfectly. No issues at all. On my PC and a standalone 4k player.
Its clean, and other 4Ks using the same drive work without issue using MAKEmkv.
Checking torrent sites (only out of curiosity, of course!) I have noticed NO 4K remux of the Final Cut are posted, while torrents for the DC and Extended cut 4K's are posted.
The disc just sits in my drive, Make MKV does not stop, as with an unknown volume K or read error. It just keeps adding to the remaining time count while the decrypting / opening progress bars stay in the same place.

Clean the disc
Replace the disc
Clean the drive
Replace the drive with a pioneer

Re: The Wicker Man 4k - dump submitted
As stated, - The "bad" disc plays in the "bad" drive on my PC. The "Bad" disc pays on my 4K player.
THE disc, as I wrote is clean. The drive is clean. The "bad" drives decrypts other 4K discs without issue.
Why would you respond to my post, which you obviously did not read?

Just because it works in a regular blu-ray player does not mean it's good for your UHD drove some discs are annoying In some drives.BrianDW wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 9:55 pmAs stated, - The "bad" disc plays in the "bad" drive on my PC. The "Bad" disc pays on my 4K player.

Seen this many times a new disc or cleaning the disc will likely help
